Dr. Lisa Meserole is a naturopathic doctor with offices in Seattle and Coupeville, in clinical practice for over 25 years; and as an ND since 1990. For fifteen years she worked with MD’s and other licensed practitioners in multidisciplinary clinics. She also worked with a dermatopathologist for a year, applying dietary and natural remedies to problem and aging skin. She worked in nutritional research for 2 years at University of Washington, and served as Nutrition Program Chair and later as Chair of Botanical Medicine at Bastyr University from 1993-96. She subsequently worked at Bastyr Research Institute on a botanical medicine used in Central America for HIV and immune compromised patients.
Her botanical studies included Western, Eclectic, Chinese and Tibetan botanical medicine; and she has lectured in the US, South America and West Africa at international conferences on Traditional and Herbal Medicine.
Dr. Meserole holds a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition, was a registered dietitian for over a decade and, worked for Seattle King County Health Department in maternal and child health and Adolescent Nutrition. She is a founding board member of the Bioresources Development and Conservation Programme, serves on various review boards, and was founding president of the Botanical Medicine Academy. Her chapter on Western Herbalism appears in Fundamentals of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (Churchill Livingston, 1995).
Dr. Lisa Meserole's primary interests include Endobiogeny (an innovative French medical and herbal system of Dr Douraffourd and Dr Lapraz of subtle neurohormonal balancing), integrated primary health care, clinical botanical medicine, nutrition and research, and promoting high quality, sustainable worldwide access to medicinal plants and foods. Her clinical specialty is to derive a sequentially phased health plan that comprehensively addresses health issues as simply and elegantly as possible. She formulates her own topical and internal natural remedies for skin, digestive, nerves, hormone, vision and antiaging health.
